Vegan Chai recipe

Indian Chai is now popular all over the world. Here’s a vegan version! This flavorful tea can be enjoyed throughout the day.

Ingredients

 2 cardamom pods
 3 ½ cups water
 3 teaspoons black tea or 3 tea bags
 ¾ cup unsweetened almond milk
 Sugar to taste

Instructions

Break cardamom pods open, crush seeds using a mortar and pestle, rolling pin or whatever works.

Drop into water in a 2-quart pan. Bring water to a boil, then add tea and milk. Carefully bring mixture to a second boil.

Remove from heat. Cover and steep for 5 minutes. Strain. Sweeten to taste.

Note: If you are lactose vegetarian, you can use dairy milk.
