Party Cheese Ball

For convenience you can make this perennial favorite the day before your event. Once plated, consider surrounding your cheese ball with pear and apple slices,  hearty crackers and small toasts, and/or pretzels.

Ingredients

 2 cups finely chopped walnuts
 ¼ cup seeds of choice, like sunflower, poppy, sesame
 8 ounces packages dairy or vegan cream cheese, at room temperature
 ½ large green or red bell pepper, finely chopped
 7 ounces can crushed pineapple, well drained
 1 tablespoon dry onion flakes
 2 teaspoons powdered vegetable seasoning
 Salt to taste

Instructions

Mix 1/2 cup of the chopped walnuts with seeds and set aside.

Combine all remaining ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly. Form into a smooth ball. Roll in reserved walnuts and seeds.

Cover with wax paper or plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm.
