FAQ

1. Do I need a ticket to enter the festival?

The festival is free to all. Registration is advised so you can get up to date information about the festival. But walk-ins are always welcome!

The only tickets sold at the festival are for the amazing vegan and vegetarian cuisine in the Food Court. The Ticket Sales booth for food items is located near the Food Court. Each ticket is 1$ per. Pay with cash or credit card.

2. Is the Festival vegetarian or vegan?
Veggie Fest is a vegan and vegetarian festival. We support veganism and vegetarianism strongly and have plenty of options for both!
3. Where are the washrooms located?

Please refer to the site map for location.

3. Is there an ATM at the Festival?

There will be an ATM at the festival. Location TBA.

4. How can I locate a certain speaker, food demo, vendor, or activity?

You can find a list of all speakers, food demonstrations, activity booths, bands, and vendors on our website or in the guidebook and map distributed at the entrance to the festival.

6. What do I do if there is a missing child?

Please go immediately to the Administration tent to contact a member of our Safety Staff. An announcement can be made at the band shell/stage. Please do not let the child leave the area. It is best to take the child to the First Aid tent located on the south end of the park. They will assist in the efforts to quickly locate a parent or guardian. Before releasing the lost child, be sure they can correctly identify their parent / guardian.

7. What do I do in the event of inclement weather?

In the event of extreme weather conditions, please adhere to the announcements being made by local authorities.

8. Where is first aid located?

Located on the south end of the park, the First Aid Triage Tent provides hydration, bug spray, sunscreen and band-aids for VF guests and triages those needing a further evaluation at the Treatment Tent nearby. In the Treatment Tent, an array of First Aid services are provided and EMS is contacted when needed.

9. Who should I contact in the event of an emergency?

We want every guest to feel safe at the festival. If you have an immediate need while on-site, go to the Administration Tent. This is where Security can be located. VF Volunteers communicate via radios while on site and can be located / notified quickly.

10. Can I bring my pet to the park?

Pets are not allowed at the festival, but Service Animals (with proper documentation) are allowed. Emotional support animals, however, are not allowed at the festival.

11. Can I bring in outside food / beverage or a blanket / chair?

No outside food or beverage is allowed into the park. No alcohol will be sold or consumed at the festival. Guests may bring their own blankets and chairs. Coolers are not allowed.

12. Where can I find parking?

Parking is free! Make your way to Danada South Park, 2701 Navistar Circle, Lisle, IL 60532. Our parking chiefs will direct you.

13. Where is the Uber or Lyft drop-off area?

Have your driver drop you off at 4045 Navistar Drive, Lisle, IL (North Wing of the SOS Meditation Center). It’s an easy-peasy walk to the park from there.

14. Is there parking for bicycles at the festival?

We ask that you don’t ride your bicycles on the festival grounds, but there is plenty of parking at the adjacent Sensory Garden—Play for All park at 2751 Navistar Drive, IL 6052. Remember to roll with your lock to keep your bike secure while you’re at the Fest.

15. Where is lost and found?

Lost and Found is located at the Administration Tent.

16. What kids’ activities are going on throughout Veggie Fest?

There are many activities scheduled at the Children’s Activities Tent, from face painting, games, live music, story-telling, to our very own parade. For a schedule of events please refer to the booklet given to you at the entrance, consult this page, or go to the Children’s Activities Tent for more information.

17. How do I go about getting information about being a vendor, sponsor, speaker, chef, or part of the musical performances?

8. Allowed & Prohibited Items

The following items are ALLOWED at Veggie Fest

  • Strollers
  • Binoculars
  • Blankets
  • Wheelchairs and walkers
  • Cameras and Go Pro cameras without detachable lenses and other accessories (monopods, selfie sticks, tripods, GoPro mounts, and other attachments are not allowed).
  • Sealed sunscreen lotion (no aerosol containers)

The following items are PROHIBITED at Veggie Fest

  • Medicines needing to be inhaled or smoked are prohibited unless in a prescribed
  • container. Per Lisle Park District Policy there is no smoking or vaping allowed.
  • No cigarettes, E-Cigs, or Vaping devises.
  • Outside food and drinks are not allowed at the festival. 
  • No alcoholic beverages are sold or allowed at the festival.
  • Any and all professional video equipment—no video recording will be allowed.
  • Drones or any other remote flying devices.
  • Coolers of any kind (exceptions may be made for medical use)
  • Glass Containers
  • Firearms, explosives, and weapons of any kind (including pocket knives, pepper spray, 
  • fireworks, etc.)
  • Illegal and illicit substances of any kind
  • Drugs or drug paraphernalia
  • Pets (except for service animals)
  • Unauthorized / unlicensed vendors are not allowed. No unauthorized solicitation and
  • materials including handbills, flyers, stickers, beach balls, giveaways, samples, etc.
  • Bicycles inside the Festival grounds (free parking is available near festival entrance)
  • Per Lisle Parks Policy all parks are non-smoking

9. Safety at Veggie Fest

We want every guest to feel safe at the festival. If you have an immediate need while on-site, seek out any festival staffer, police, fire, or security.

10. Children at Veggie Fest

Kids of all ages are welcome at Veggie Fest. Families should stop by the Children’s Activity tent to engage in the arts, crafts, face-paintings, music performances, and children’s parade. Check out the schedule and be prepared to be amazed!

11. Be Part of the Festival

Veggie Fest is committed to supporting organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life of all beings sharing this beautiful planet.

a. Sustainability
Veggie Fest strives to mitigate its impact on the environment. We take pride in the efforts of our guests in helping to maintain the integrity of the park during the Veggie Fest weekend. Partner with us by participating in recycling and composting.

b. There are many opportunities to give back to our community. Feel free to drop by designated areas at the festival and discover how you can support these worthwhile causes: Blood Drive, Food Donation Drive, Sensory Garden and Playground—Play for All, Humanitarian Service Project, and People’s Resource Center of DuPage County.

12. Service Animals at the Festival

Pets are not allowed at the festival, but Service Animals (with proper documentation) are allowed. Emotional support animals, however, are not allowed at the festival.

13. Patrons with Mobility Limitations

  • The Festival grounds are wheelchair accessible, but please be aware that most of the festival is over natural terrain. If it should rain there will be mud in some places.

  • We do not provide personal care or push service. Please plan ahead and bring attendants if needed. In addition, the festival does not provide wheelchairs for rent or loan. Please make arrangement in advance if a wheelchair is needed.

  • Wheelchairs and power wheelchairs are allowed for use by patrons with mobility disabilities. For safety reasons, requests to use other power-driven mobility devices will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

14. Special Dietary and Medical Needs

  • Food allergens are listed at each food booth, but it’s always good practice to inquire.

  • Outside food and drinks are not allowed at the festival.

  • No alcoholic beverages are sold or allowed at the festival.

  • A patron requiring insulin is allowed to bring his or her medically necessary materials and medications provided all medicine has a prescription label with the patron’s name. Out of concern for the festival staff and volunteers who handle the trash, please dispose of your medical waste and syringes in the proper disposal located at the medical tent (see map for location). Please do not dispose of these items in other trash bins at the festival.
